NHP Provides a One-Stop Shop for All of Your NCAA Post-Eligibility Physical and Mental Health Needs
Support for post-eligible NCAA athletes
Effective August 1. 2024, the NCAA, in partnership with Mutual of Omaha and AG Specialty Insurance created a first-ever insurance program for post-eligible NCAA athletes in all Divisions (I, II and III) for up to 2-years after a student-athlete separates from school or voluntarily withdraws from athletics and up to $90,000 for both medical and mental health care related to any athletically related, documented injury (“NCAA Program”).

Who We Are
Negentex is an Orlando-based medical facility created, in part, to assist post-eligible, NCAA varsity student athletes from all Divisions and for both men and women sports in taking advantage of the recently enacted NCAA Program.
How We Work
Negentex takes the mystery and challenges that insurance claims and treatment requires by providing a one-stop facility for post-eligible NCAA athletes covered under the Program to meet their medical and mental health needs after college. Negentex has primary care physicians, neurologists, psychologists and mental health practitioners on staff to work directly with each athlete both singularly and in group settings as needed and preferred. If the athlete is covered under the Program, there are no out-of-pocket costs for the athlete, no deductibles for the athlete (of family) to pay and no billing imposed on the athlete in order for the athlete to receive comprehensive immediate and continuing care during the Term.

Continuing Transitional After Care
A former NCAA athlete’s key to success under the Program is to utilize its benefits by securing immediate medical, psychological and related mental health treatment plans while implementing a long-term transition plan. That plan should be unique to each athlete so that it will allow them to seamlessly transition from college athletics to everyday life outside of varsity sports. The Program specifically allocates over 25% of its total 2-year insurance coverage to mental health treatment.
Negentex understands that treating the symptom which arose from a varsity sport injury is not as effective as treating the symptom and the cause. Part of the Negentex treatment plan is, in addition to providing the medical care needed for recovery, to also provide continuing care and wellness resources to athletes that need assistance in their life’s transition process. Negentex assigns MHPs to each athlete as needed to assist in following their medical and mental health plans. Beyond that, Negentex’s MHPs are like the athlete’s college coach and are there to provide coaching and guidance along each athlete’s path to recovery and toward sustaining a meaningful and rewarding lifestyle outside of college athletics. Providing each athlete with a team of providers and their own 2-year “coach” is what distinguishes Negentex from all other providers and ensures each athlete a much higher likelihood of transitional success.
